Understanding your Guitar

As a beginner, you must understand your guitar before going any further. Learning to play guitar is like learning a new language, in the beginning, you must need to learn the alphabet and then words, grammar, and the sentences after you need to speak in that language to get familiar with the pronunciations.
If you completed all these steps correctly you can start creating your own creation in that language. But if you skip any of these steps you will end up giving up on learning the language.

If you're new to learning guitar you must follow a similar path to be a good guitarist. It's not something that will happen over the knight. To be a good guitarist you must pay its cost and that is your valuable TIME!. Keep practicing keep doing exercises keep trying new tricks day by day you will improve your self to be better.

First, you must know all the parts in your guitar its very importer for you to know each part and its purpose before learning to play the guitar. There are three types of guitars, the steel-string acoustic Guitar, Nylon string Guitar (classical guitar), and Electric guitar.

1. Parts of the Guitar.

2. Names of the Strings

Standard Guitar tuning is EADGBE but in some special cases you can have your guitar tuned to different tunes but it is very rear almost everyone has there guitars tuned to the standard tuning all the time. If you have difficulty remembering the Standard tuning just remember the below the poem.

4. How to tune your Guitar

Before starts playing you need to tune the guitar. Tuning your guitar means by tightening or loosing the strings you need to match the open strings to play the standard pitch(EADGBE). There are few ways to tune the guitar,
        • By an electronic tuner
        • By “ear”
        • By using a keyboard
I. Tuning with an Electronic tuner

Now days tuning with an electric tuner is very popular you will find lots of guitar tuning app even for your mobile (Android/IOS) to download. How these tuners work when you play an open string on your guitar the microphone will send a signal to the software to detect pitch and give you instructions whether you need to tight the string or lose the string. The electric tuner is very fast and accurate.

II. Tuning with “ear”

This is the classical way of tuning the guitar but as a beginner, this method is a bit hard to begging with. But I suggest practicing tuning by ear to train your ears to identify the notes by listing them.
  • Step 1 - Place your finger on the 5th fret of 6th string and play the note. then play the open 5th string. Listen carefully to two notes. If the open string sounds lower you need to tighten the 5th string and play again and try again when you hear both notes sound the same string is tuned. If the open 5th  sounds higher then loosen the 5th string key. only adjust the tuning of the open string.
  • Step 2 - Play the 5th fret on the 5th string and the open 4th string. Listen to the two notes and adjust the open string till the pitch matches.
  • Step 3 - Play the 5th fret on the 4th string. Listen and tune the open 3rd string to it.
  • Step 4 - Play the 3rd string on the 4th fret and tune the open 2nd string.
  • Step 5 - play the 2nd string on the 5th fret and tune the open 1st string.
III. Tuning with Keyboard

You can tune your guitar with a keyboard play each open string note on the keyboard and listen carefully and tune your guitar to it.

Now you're ready to start playing your first notes.!
Thanks!
